Mr. Pazhamalai Jayaraman (aka ‘JPM’) advises companies across industries in areas of cyber security strategy, cyber governance, cyber risk management. He has rich industry experience in the areas of IT, more specifically, in information/cyber security risk management and governance. He is also an Independent External Member of the Standing Committee on Technology and Risk Management, having been a part of start-ups, a FinTech evaluation Committee member in IITK-SIIC, and a member of the evaluation committee in IFSCA.
He has worked in Reserve Bank Information Technology Pvt. Limited [ReBIT] as the Systems Audit Vertical head to assist the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) with enhancing the Indian banking sector’s cyber resilience. To this end, JPM spearheaded risk-based supervision through security audits and incident analytics. As a former Global Chief Information Security Officer [CISO] in Wipro Limited, he has steered the Information Risk Management & Policy Compliance [IRMC] group, serving customers from diversified industry verticals. His industry experience spans reputed organizations like ReBIT, ANZ Operations and Technology, Wipro Limited, Kotak Mahindra Bank (erstwhile Vysya Bank), and the National Informatics Centre, Planning Commission, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
JPM has been invited to speak at a number of domestic and international conferences and moderated sessions as a Chairperson. He has delivered numerous cyber security sessions to banking industry professionals, including CxOs and Boards of Directors, through RBI-CoS, IDRBT, NIBM, CAFRAL. He was also in receipt of Top 100 CISO award for his contributions in Information Security.
Mr. Pazhamalai possesses a Master’s degree in Mathematics and a post-graduate diploma in Computer Science and Applications. He has also completed a post-graduate program in Business Analytics and Business Intelligence [PGP-BABI] offered jointly by the Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai and the Illinois Institute of Management, USA. He holds ITIL, CISA, CISSP, CISM and SABSA credentials in cyber security. Mr. Pazhamalai has also completed the National Cyber Security Scholar (NCSS) program organised by the Information Sharing Analysis Centre (ISAC) with knowledge partners, NCIIPC and CERT-IN.
