Gauri S Kumar is part of DeepStrat’s public policy risk mitigation team. She has a Master’s in Public Policy from the prestigious National Law School of India University, Bangalore. She also has an honours degree in Philosophy from Miranda House, University of Delhi.
At DeepStrat she works on platform regulation, intermediary liability, data governance, privacy, cybersecurity, and FinTech. She has also conducted research on the global regulatory landscape for EdTech. She also worked on an academic paper on the regulation of surrogacy, with the Centre for Policy Research and Governance. She is fascinated by the intersection of technology, society, and regulation.
While at NLSIU, she co-authored a primer on ”The Metaverse: A Tech and Policy Brief’ with Professor Srijoni Sen. She has also worked on regulatory challenges posed by various disruptive technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, blockchain, and web3. Her dissertation centres on gendered disinformation, which reflects her interest in the broader challenges posed by the impact of technology on the information ecosystem. Her keenness to understand the evolving regulatory contours of tech policy drives her work at DeepStrat’s ever-growing projects. Beyond her professional interests, she enjoys discussing philosophy and consuming visual arts, cinema and literature.
